These filter papers are used in many common filter processes. No.1 filter papers retain large crystalline particles and gelatinous precipitates. They offer a fast flow rate, have a smooth surface, and are a normal hardness.
This grade is also found in routine cleanup analysis of insoluable liquids such as biological fluids and organic elements.
