Introducing JRI MySirius: Connected Monitoring for Your Laboratory
Keeping track of laboratory storage conditions is easier when measurements, trends and alerts are available in one place. JRI MySirius brings together wireless data loggers and a web-based monitoring platform to help your team oversee temperature-sensitive products during storage and transport.
From laboratory refrigerators and freezers to incubators and ambient storage areas, the system can be configured around the equipment, parameters and locations you need to monitor.
Connected sensors with a central view
JRI MySirius collects readings from compatible sensors so you can review measurements and graphs through a web application. Depending on the selected sensor, monitoring can include temperature, relative humidity, door openings and other environmental parameters.
Cloud and server-hosted options provide flexibility for different IT requirements, while configurable dashboards help users focus on the equipment and information relevant to their role.
Nano SPY for compact wireless monitoring
Nano SPY mini data loggers use 2.4 GHz radio communication to send readings to a nearby Nano SPY LINK module, which passes the data to JRI MySirius. Their compact format makes them useful for monitoring individual enclosures and transport boxes.
Examples in the range include:
- Nano SPY T1: temperature monitoring from -40°C to +85°C for ambient conditions, refrigerators and freezers.
- Nano SPY T2: an external temperature probe with a measurement range of -50°C to +105°C.
- Nano SPY TH: temperature and relative humidity monitoring from -30°C to +70°C and 0–100% RH.
These three models measure 63 × 42 × 25 mm and store up to 10,000 time-stamped measurements. The choice of model and probe should match the conditions and accuracy required for your application.
LoRa SPY for wider coverage
For equipment spread across larger areas, LoRa SPY offers long-range communication through a compatible LoRaWAN operator network or a private JRI gateway. Readings are managed through the same MySirius platform, giving teams a central place to oversee their monitoring data.
The range includes models for temperature, temperature and humidity, door-opening detection and external probes. Network coverage and the required sensor configuration should be assessed for each installation.

How the system connects
JRI MySirius supports fixed and mobile monitoring units, whether you need to monitor several enclosures at one site or equipment across multiple locations. The diagram below illustrates three communication paths:
- Nano SPY to Nano SPY LINK: a nearby LINK module receives sensor readings, with 50 m shown as an indicative communication-distance example. Compatible LINK hardware can provide local alerts through a warning-light indicator.
- LoRa telecom operator network: LoRa SPY readings can travel through a compatible operator network, with 15 km shown in the diagram.
- Private gateway: a private JRI gateway offers an alternative connection path, with 3 km shown in the diagram.

The distances shown are indicative examples from the diagram, not guaranteed operating ranges. Actual range depends on site conditions, obstructions and network coverage. Confirm the proposed network design with Arvind Rao for your application.
Readings are sent to the JRI cloud or a customer-hosted server and managed through the MySirius application. Email, SMS and phone alerts can help teams respond to changing conditions, with available alert options depending on the selected subscription and system configuration.
Alerts that support a prompt response
Configurable alerts help notify the right people when monitored conditions exceed set limits. Options include email, SMS and voice notifications, alongside local visual indicators on compatible hardware. Alarm scheduling and escalation settings can be arranged around your team’s responsibilities.
Software features, alert options and data retention depend on the selected subscription and system configuration.
