Micro Pipettors

A micro pipette is a precision instrument designed to measure and dispense very small liquid volumes, typically in microlitres. Unlike a standard pipette, a micropipette pipette uses disposable tips and a piston mechanism to achieve highly accurate, repeatable micro-volume transfers.

Our range includes fixed-volume pipettors, adjustable-volume pipettors, single-channel models for general use and multi-channel pipettors for high-throughput plate work.

Typical ranges span from 0.2 µL up to 5,000 µL. Select a micro pipette where your target volume sits in the middle of the instrument’s range for the best accuracy.

Tips vary by size, sterility, filter type and fit. Choose tips that match your pipettor’s designated volume range, ensure a secure seal and consider filter tips when working with volatile, radioactive or contamination-sensitive samples.

Use a smooth plunger motion, pre-wet the tip, keep the pipettor vertical when aspirating and avoid touching the tip to vessel walls. Proper technique ensures accuracy and prevents contamination.

Most pipettors should be calibrated every 6–12 months, depending on usage. Regular cleaning, inspection of seals and O-rings and prompt servicing help maintain accuracy.
